THE MENOPAUSE SOCIETY

The Menopause Society at https://www.menopause.org

The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS) was founded in 1989 as a non-profit multidisciplinary organization with the mission of promoting health and quality of life during midlife and beyond through an understanding of menopause and healthy aging.

The Menopause Society is recognized as a preeminent resource on all aspects of menopause to both healthcare providers and the public.

The Menopause Society has developed a competency exam for healthcare providers with expertise in the field, designating those that pass as Certified Menopause Practitioners (CMP). Providers must engage in continuing education within the field of menopause on an annual basis to maintain this certification. In addition, they hold an annual conference to help providers stay up to date on the latest information regarding menopause and has a monthly journal with peer-review research and updates on best practices.

The Menopause Society website has excellent reading material for patients and providers. You can find a CMP, located by your zip code, on their website.
